Sabrina Carpenter Wins Her First Primetime Emmy for ‘The Muppet Show’

It's been 50 years since Kermit the Frog first hit the airwaves. This week, the special built to honor that legacy earned Sabrina Carpenter her very first Emmy.

Sabrina Carpenter took home her first Primetime Emmy on Saturday, September 5, and this one came with a Kermit the Frog cameo.

Carpenter won as an executive producer and performer on Disney+'s "The Muppet Show," which won the award for outstanding variety special (pre-recorded) on the first night of the Creative Arts Emmys.

The special, marking the 50th anniversary of the original 1976-81 series, beat out Taylor Swift’s "The Eras Tour | The Final Show," among other nominees. “The Muppet Show” also won for writing, production design, and picture editing.

This is the second time Carpenter has beaten Swift for a major, EGOT-track award. Back in February 2025, her album "Short n' Sweet" won Best Pop Vocal Album at the Grammys over Swift's "The Tortured Poets Department," and Carpenter also picked up Best Pop Solo Performance for "Espresso" that same night.

Carpenter, who is now halfway toward EGOT status, celebrated "The Muppet Show’s" Emmy wins across four Instagram stories, writing, "So incredibly proud of the whole muppets crew on our Emmy wins!!!!! A lot of love and happiness and hard work and diva fights went into making this special."

The four-story tribute featured a graphic marking the win and behind-the-scenes photos of Carpenter in costume with Kermit and Miss Piggy.
